About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity in the Mechatronics commodity to be able to support Lam’s growth. This position is part of the Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) organization. In this position, you, as a Supplier Business Manager, play a vital role with the Mechatronics suppliers. You will have the opportunity to support the commodity strategy and work across organizations on key objectives such as driving suppliers to deliver to commitments and key performance metrics, support business continuity plan adoption and execution, and execute deliveries within available supplier capacity. You are the key interface to the supplier’s operations and own their performance to Lam. The candidate will represent the Supply Chain on cross-functional teams with Product Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Supplier Quality Engineers. Candidate should be a result-driven, self-starter possessing strong interpersonal skills with a strong focus on supporting customers. This individual should also possess the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, to adapt to changing priorities and work independently in a close-knit team setting. Candidate will define & monitor metrics in line with AOP (annual operating plan) objectives relative to supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous improvement; then drives team to address and close gaps to meet objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, or applied sciences with 8 years of experience; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a Ph.D with 3 years.
  • At least 5 years of working in the Semiconductor Equipment Industry Experience, working with global suppliers
  • Familiarity with semiconductors, electrical equipment, or high-technology supply chain management practices, standards, and organizations.
  • Strong business acumen, verbal and written communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with various levels and roles throughout the organization.
  • Technical understanding of electro-mechanical assemblies, manufacturing processes, commercial off-the-shelf items and OEM components.
  • Proven experience of strong analytical and problem-solving skills with history of successful resolution

Responsibilities

  • Defines metrics and monitor supplier performance against established scorecards and expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement and sustainability.
  • Regularly evaluate performance benchmarks, and the risks associated with the preferred supply base selection.
  • Continuously working on process improvement to deploy & develop best known methods related to procurement, inventory control (e.g., JIT, Kanban, min/max, consignment) & manufacturing strategies, at times in partnership with Strategic Commodity Managers.
  • Motivate and drive the improvement of the suppliers’ manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, cost, and on-time-delivery.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management business processes and proper governance controls for factory management.
  • Establishes goals with supplier to ensure material delivery meets forecasted demand.
  • Represents supplier business management on a cross-functional commodity teams that focuses on supply challenges, and to ensure internal/external customer needs are satisfied.
  • Maintains current knowledge on relevant trends by personal contact, industry reports, trade journals, etc.
  • Works with engineering and the supplier to resolve complex problems to ensure on time delivery of critical material to support customer and company requirements.
  • Develops presentations, white papers, process flow charts to support continuous process improvement projects.
  • Works with suppliers to monitor product costs preventing negative PPV and supporting cost reduction efforts.
