Supply Chain Associate
About The Position
The Part-time Supply Chain Associate supports branch inventory management and business-to-business operations through procurement, sourcing, quoting, and customer supply chain support. The role is based at Fastenal’s branch at 8120 Belvedere Rd, West Palm Beach, Florida. A flexible schedule may be available after onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. Training includes on-the-job, online, instructor-led classroom, and virtual learning intended to build the knowledge and skills needed to perform the role and grow with the company. The position involves lifting, carrying, sliding, and lowering packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and sometimes up to 75 pounds. A company vehicle may be used for deliveries as needed.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a current, full, valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located, including completion of any applicable graduated license program, and meet driving record requirements to use a company vehicle as needed.
- Possess or be working toward a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales, or a related field of study, or have customer service or industry-related work experience.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Have proficient computer skills.
- Be highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented.
- Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
- Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrate the company’s core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
- Be able to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and sometimes up to 75 pounds.
- Pass the required drug screen in the US, Puerto Rico, or Guam.
Responsibilities
- Manage branch inventory levels.
- Administer procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management.
- Estimate and quote prices and source products.
- Coordinate resources to respond to customer supply chain needs.
- Support accounts receivable activities.
- Make deliveries using a company vehicle as necessary.
- Perform other duties as needed to ensure branch success.
