About The Position

University of Iowa Health Care - Medical Center North Liberty department of Material Services is seeking a Supply Chain Associate who will serve as a liaison for clinics, operating rooms, and other departments throughout the hospital. Utilize Microsoft Excel, Peoplesoft, OCRA, and Qtrak software to locate supplies and instruments, track incoming packages and delivery locations, and maintain inventory. Prompt communication with hospital staff regarding emergencies and requests. Ability to move throughout hospital, lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, push/pull manual carts on a regular basis, and operate manual and motorized pallet jacks. Ability to move and position self to handle inventory, including high/low shelving. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 6 months to a year of experience within a supply management receiving, warehousing, and/or distribution setting.
  • Experience planning, allocating, and mobilizing resources to fulfill or complete a work unit or organizational objective or task.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Create working relationships with team members, caregivers, vendors, etc.
  • Ability to move throughout hospital, lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, push/pull manual carts on a regular basis, and operate manual and motorized pallet jacks.
  • Ability to move and position self to handle inventory, including high/low shelving.

  • Knowledge of University policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, keeping multiple initiatives moving forward simultaneously.
  • Experience with SPM, PeopleSoft, OCRA, Qtrak and Tableau software.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, procure, receive, store, and deliver goods and services.
  • Initiate requisitions to procure goods and services at the direction of others.
  • Organize and maintain hospital inventory.
  • Safely deliver product to appropriate locations.
  • Receive, properly store and distribute product.
  • Address inventory issues related to the supply chain and suggest models for improvement.
  • Maintain and secure inventory and report issues as needed.
  • Responsible for implementation of marketing strategy or plan.
  • Assist with inventory management throughout the hospital.
  • Cycle count, order, restock, and receive products.
  • Properly handle, stock and restock linens.
  • Maintain inventory/equipment database(s).
  • Responsible for the maintenance of inventory data and scanning.
  • May provide functional and/or administrative supervision of staff.
  • May provide training to other employees and hospital end users.
  • Respond to emails and meeting requests appropriately and timely.
