Supply Chain Associate
About The Position
The Part-time Supply Chain Associate supports branch inventory management and business-to-business operations by administering procurement, sourcing, and quoting functions to meet customer needs. The role is based at Fastenal’s branch at 930 W 16th St, Indianapolis, Indiana. A flexible schedule may be available after onboarding and training and upon meeting performance goals. The position includes on-the-job, online, instructor-led classroom, and virtual training. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a current, full, valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located, including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program, and meet driving record requirements to use a company vehicle as needed.
- Possess or be working toward a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales, or a related field, or have customer service or industry-related work experience.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Have proficient computer skills.
- Be highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented.
- Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
- Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrate the company’s core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
- Be able to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
- Pass the required drug screen where applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam.
- Pass a background check required by a customer or contract serviced by this location.
Responsibilities
- Manage branch inventory levels.
- Administer procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management.
- Estimate and quote prices and source products.
- Coordinate resources to respond to customer supply chain needs.
- Support accounts receivable activities.
- Make deliveries using a company vehicle as necessary.
- Perform other duties as needed to ensure branch success.
