About The Position

The Part-time Supply Chain Associate supports supply chain operations at Fastenal’s branch in Augusta, Georgia. The role manages inventory and supports business-to-business operations through procurement, sourcing, quoting, and coordination of resources to meet customer needs. Duties may also include accounts receivable support and deliveries using a company vehicle. A flexible schedule may be available after onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for 10–28 hours per week. Fastenal provides on-the-job, online, instructor-led classroom, and virtual training to develop the knowledge and skills needed for the role and future growth within the company.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have a current, full, valid driver’s license issued in the country where the job is located, including completion of any applicable graduated license program, and meet driving record requirements to use a company vehicle as needed.
Possess or be working toward a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales, or a related field, or have customer service or industry-related work experience.
Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Have proficient computer skills.
Be highly motivated, self-directed, and customer-service oriented.
Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities.
Exhibit strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills.
Demonstrate the company’s core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
Lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and potentially up to 75 pounds.
Pass the required drug screen where applicable in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Guam.
Pass a background check required by a customer or contract served by the location.

Responsibilities

Manage branch inventory levels.
Administer procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management.
Estimate and quote prices and source products.
Coordinate resources to respond to customer supply chain needs.
Support accounts receivable activities.
Make deliveries with a company vehicle as necessary.
Perform other duties as needed to ensure branch success.
