About The Position

The Supply Chain & Procurement Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end management of procurement and supply chain operations, including strategic sourcing, supplier management, inventory control, and materials coordination. This role ensures continuity of supply, cost optimization, inventory accuracy, and alignment with production and customer requirements. The position works cross-functionally with production, engineering, quality, and sales teams to support operational efficiency and business objectives. This is an individual contributor role with no managerial or supervisory responsibilities. This role requires on-site presence in Morristown, TN; relocation assistance is not available. Sponsorship for Work Authorization is not available for this position.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or inventory management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain, procurement, and inventory management principles.
  • Knowledge of international trade, Incoterms, and customs regulations.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data and documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Ability to work with global suppliers across different time zones and cultures.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of materials up to 25–50 pounds.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout manufacturing and warehouse areas.
  • Manual dexterity to operate office and inventory equipment.

  • Experience with international sourcing and metals procurement strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute sourcing strategies for raw materials, including specialty metals (e.g., titanium, stainless steel, nickel alloys).
  • Manage supplier relationships, including performance monitoring, contract negotiation, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor global market trends and pricing to support cost-effective purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company procurement policies.
  • Support supplier qualification, audits, and corrective action processes.
  • Oversee receipt, storage, and issuance of materials supporting production and maintenance operations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure integrity within the ERP/inventory management system.
  • Conduct cycle counts and support physical inventory audits.
  • Monitor stock levels and proactively manage replenishment to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, or obsolete stock.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast material requirements and align supply with production schedules.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, including supplier deliveries and shipments (e.g., UPS, DHL, freight providers).
  • Track supplier delivery performance and adjust plans to meet operational requirements.
  • Support contract review processes and ensure timely material availability for sales orders.
  • Process purchase orders, invoices, and maintain accurate procurement records in ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Manage procurement of indirect materials, including packaging and office supplies.
  • Prepare and submit procurement and inventory reports for financial closing and management review.
  • Maintain organized documentation in compliance with company policies and retention requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and proper material handling/storage procedures.
  • Support compliance with ISO 9001 and internal quality management systems.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support business needs.
