The company manufactures a variety of consumer brands including wood pellets for home heating, BBQ pellets for grilling, wood pellets and shavings for animal bedding, and a wood fiber-based cat litter. All products are linked by a recycled, renewable, sustainable, and carbon neutral story, turning recycled sawdust into value-add, branded consumer products. The Supply Chain Analyst & Planner is a key role within the SIOP team, responsible for driving the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning process for the company's highest-volume and most complex category. This position requires strong analytical skills, comfort with data modeling, analysis, and optimization tools, including artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. The role supports capacity modeling and scenario planning to identify opportunities across the Lignetics plant network. Additionally, this role manages end-to-end demand and supply planning for the Heating category across a multi-site manufacturing footprint, working closely with the Heating Category Manager to align on customer demand and inventory positioning.

Requirements

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to synthesize large data sets, model complex supply scenarios, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency required; demonstrated experience building complex planning models, scenario analyses, and data-driven decision tools.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Sage, Infor, or similar).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supply chain, data analytics, or operations environment, with a demonstrated focus on quantitative analysis, modeling, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience with procurement functions, including PO management, vendor communication, and delivery tracking.
  • Proactive communication style and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, operations, and plant teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with supply chain optimization or network modeling platforms (Coupa, Llamasoft, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Experience utilizing AI tools (e.g. Claude, Copilot, or similar) to build models, automate analysis, or enhance supply chain decision-making strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the Coupa supply chain optimization platform, including running the supply chain model, executing scenario analyses, and capacity utilization.
  • Translate model outputs into actionable recommendations, leveraging AI tools to enhance model building, automate analysis, and identify supply chain opportunities.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve planning models for scenario planning, capacity analysis, and supply chain decision-making.
  • Own end-to-end production planning for the Heating category across multiple work cells (pellet mills, log lines, brick lines).
  • Conduct weekly SKU demand alignment calls with the Heating Category Manager to discuss sales forecast updates, customer demand signals, plant-level inventory positioning, slow-moving inventory decisions, and inventory targets.
  • Set and maintain finished goods safety stock and reorder levels for all plants and DCs.
  • Balance production against sales forecasts to manage inventory roll-forward at the SKU level, collaborating with other category planners, the SIOP Manager, and the Heating Category Manager.
  • Manage procurement and supply planning for bag film and cover bags for the heating category, coordinating with the Purchasing Manager for quotations and ensuring approved artwork and specifications.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding purchase orders and monitor delivery schedules and status updates.
  • Partner with the Heating Category Manager on new product launches and sales opportunity ramp-ups.
  • Communicate with foresters regarding raw material needs.
  • Perform weekly schedule attainment tracking.
  • Undertake other projects as assigned.
