About The Position

Lignetics, Inc. is a company with 30 years of experience in clean, renewable energy, animal care, and cooking solutions. They manufacture a variety of consumer brands including wood pellets for home heating, BBQ pellets for grilling, wood pellets and shavings for animal bedding, and a wood fiber-based cat litter. All products are linked by a recycled, renewable, sustainable, and carbon neutral story, turning recycled sawdust into value-add, branded consumer products. The Supply Chain Analyst & Planner will be part of the SIOP team, working with the SIOP Manager and other category planners to drive the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning process. This role is critical for the company's highest-volume and most complex category, requiring strong analytical skills, data modeling, analysis, and optimization tool proficiency. The role serves as a key analytical partner to the SIOP Manager, supporting capacity modeling and scenario planning to identify opportunities across the Lignetics plant network. It demands analytical fluency, comfort with large datasets, optimization tools, and the ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies for model building, insight generation, and translating data into supply chain decisions. Additionally, this role is responsible for end-to-end demand and supply planning for the Heating category across a multi-site manufacturing footprint, working closely with the Heating Category Manager to align on customer demand and inventory positioning.

Requirements

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to synthesize large data sets, model complex supply scenarios, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Experience with supply chain optimization or network modeling platforms (Coupa, Llamasoft, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency required; demonstrated experience building complex planning models, scenario analyses, and data-driven decision tools.
  • Experience utilizing AI tools (e.g. Claude, Copilot, or similar) to build models, automate analysis, or enhance supply chain decision-making strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Sage, Infor, or similar).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supply chain, data analytics, or operations environment, with a demonstrated focus on quantitative analysis, modeling, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience with procurement functions, including PO management, vendor communication, and delivery tracking.
  • Proactive communication style and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, operations, and plant teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the SIOP Manager, operate the Coupa supply chain optimization platform — running the supply chain model, executing scenario analyses, capacity utilization, and translating model outputs into actionable recommendations; leverage AI tools to enhance model building, automate analysis, and identify supply chain opportunities.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve planning models to support scenario planning, capacity analysis, and supply chain decision-making.
  • Own end-to-end production planning for Heating — Lignetics’ highest-volume category — across multiple work cells including pellet mills, log lines, and brick lines.
  • Conduct weekly SKU demand alignment calls in close partnership with the Heating Category Manager — collaborating on sales forecast updates, customer demand signals, inventory positioning at the plant level, slow-moving inventory decisions, and ensuring inventory targets are met within the Heating Micro markets.
  • Set and maintain finished goods safety stock and reorder levels for finished goods across all plants and DCs.
  • Balance production against sales forecasts to manage inventory roll-forward at the SKU level, requires ongoing collaboration with other category planners, SIOP Manager, and Heating Category Manager.
  • Manage procurement and supply planning activities for bag film and cover bags for the heating category. Coordinate with Purchasing Manager to obtain supplier quotations. Partner with Category Managers to ensure approved artwork and specifications. Communicate with vendors regarding purchase orders and monitor delivery schedules and status updates.
  • Partner closely with the Heating Category Manager on new product launches and sales opportunity ramp-ups.
  • Communicate with foresters on raw material needs.
  • Perform weekly schedule attainment tracking.
  • Other projects as assigned.
