About The Position

Boeing Distribution, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Experienced/Senior Supply Base Management Specialist to join their team. This role is responsible for managing supplier performance and recovery efforts, including relationship management, metrics, and processes. The specialist will handle critical customer part requests and communicate supplier recovery status and strategies to senior leadership. The position involves defining and monitoring performance metrics, leading supplier recovery plans for critical part escalations, and coordinating cross-functional activities to resolve supplier issues. The role also requires maintaining situational awareness of supply chain vulnerabilities, driving continuous improvement, managing SAP system updates, ensuring compliance, and building strong supplier partnerships. Additionally, the specialist will analyze and report on key supplier performance indicators, communicate strategic initiatives, lead cross-functional process management, and lead self-assessment and audit teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Supplier Management or Supply Chain Management
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects that involve cross-functional or cross-business unit teams
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience with supplier recovery and supplier performance improvement
  • 2+ years’ experience with SAP4HANA
  • 3+ years of experience using Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience with ERP system functionality with an emphasis on SAP4HANA.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities & a highly detail-oriented mindset.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Define, implement, and monitor performance metrics, KPIs, and processes to manage supplier performance, on-time delivery, quality, and recovery timelines.
  • Lead supplier recovery plans for customer-critical part escalations, ensuring timely corrective actions and follow-through.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities with Procurement, Planning, Quality, Logistics, Engineering, and Operations to resolve supplier issues.
  • Prepare and present supplier recovery status, risks, and mitigation strategies to Senior Leadership and stakeholders.
  • Maintain situational awareness of supplier capacity constraints, lead-time risk, and other supply chain vulnerabilities; proactively mitigate impacts to operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, standardize processes, and share best practices across the team.
  • Manage SAP system updates regularly.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers, program leadership, peers, and cross-functional leaders.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by communicating and deploying enterprise best practices to improve communication, quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyzes and prepares reports to measure key suppliers and internal performance indicators.
  • Communicates strategic initiatives, projects or procurement activities.
  • Leads cross-functional process management activities.
  • Leads self-assessment and audit teams to identify and implement corrective action.
  • Lead efforts to mitigate risk and resolve issues to high-risk programs.
