Supply Attendant - Stores
About The Position
This position is responsible for maintaining adequate stock on all Units and Departments, surveying inventory items for all areas of the facility and distributing supplies appropriately. The role acts as a liaison between Materials Management and user areas, replenishes stock as required, and responds to end-user requests professionally. The Supply Attendant is also responsible for trakker operations, order verifications, initiating order variance processes, and all shipping and receiving functions. Math, process comprehension, and communication skills will be tested during the applicant screening process. Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma
- Minimum 5 years related experience with knowledge of medical/surgical supplies, inventory systems, hospital geography and proven customer service orientation
- Excellent time management skills required
- Must be able to read, speak and write English fluently with excellent communication skills
- Must have a basic to intermediate level of mathematical skill relevant to the position
- Must be completely capable of meeting the physical requirements of the job in a multi-temperature environment
- Practical experience in materials management operations is essential
- Good organizational, interpersonal, communications and service oriented skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills partnered with attention to detail with the ability to work effectively with little supervision
- Must possess a competency/knowledge of order/entry and materials management systems
- Must be willing to upgrade skills as departmental needs dictate
- An excellent work performance and attendance is required
- Operation of Symbol Hand-held Trakker and Materials Management System
- Basic keyboarding and data entry skills
- Good attendance and work record is essential
