Supply Assurance (Purchasing)
About The Position
Motorola Solutions is seeking a Supply Assurance professional to lead global supply assurance processes for newly acquired operations. This role involves creating, architecting, and ensuring adherence to global supply assurance processes. The position establishes processes and procedures to ensure customer satisfaction through quality adherence and optimal delivery. The individual will interface with internal customers and external suppliers to provide solutions and support MSI's customers. Key responsibilities include supporting efforts to reduce shortages through lead time reduction, buffer stock strategies, and contractual agreements. End-to-end experience in materials management is highly advantageous for influencing the supply chain internally and externally.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 7+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles (category management experience).
- Proficiency in English
- Advanced Excel skills
- In-depth knowledge of how ERP systems and supplier collaboration work is key.
- Leadership skills and traits
- Effective communication with all levels of management
- Ability to multitask
- History or experience leading process architecture, new processes
Nice To Haves
- PowerPoint/ Google Docs experience is a plus.
- Experience in Oracle and/or SAP is a plus.
- Additional experience in Supply Chain / Materials / Warehousing / Inventory / Planning / Production Control will be a plus.
Responsibilities
- Leads and participates in Supply Assurance reviews with Category Managers and Executive teams.
- Communicates effectively upward.
- Leads without direct control, through influence and respect.
- Diagnoses supply systematic failures and constructs solutions across the organization.
- Creates linkage from shortage root cause and corrective action to long-term preventive actions such as safety stock and new sources.
- Understands key supply commodities such as semiconductors, castings, plastics, and electronic/mechanical assemblies.
- Understands key products impacting each business, key Customers, and supplier constraints.
- Drives each gating item to resolution with Purchasing teams, Category Teams, Suppliers, Engineering, and Exec teams.
- Explores all possible options to resolve shortages, including distribution, alternative suppliers, and expedited freight.
- Understands current Lead-Times and identifies long-pole items for key suppliers, driving to reduce these Lead-times.
- Works with Business Teams to understand short and long-term forecasts and communicates them to relevant teams.
- Participates in driving potential alternate suppliers.
- Understands key shortages impacting customers.
- Drives overall shortage metrics.
- Provides training to sites on escalation guidelines and monitors adherence.
- Effectively communicates long-term supply concerns and drives solutions.
- Works across different time zones.
- Occasional travel, no more than 10%.
