About The Position

The Supplier Quality Supervisor is responsible for supporting the business by ensuring that suppliers are in compliance with company requirements and government regulations. The incumbent in this role will focus on assisting the company through audits, communicating with suppliers, and updating and maintaining the vendor/supplier program to support the business and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree at a minimum or at least four years of experience and/or training.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and knowledge

  • Regular and reliable attendance required.
  • Knowledge of FDA and food safety regulations.
  • The ability to work in a team-driven environment.
  • Self-motivated and task driven.
  • The ability to work extended hours, as required.
  • Knowledge of GMPs and HACCP programs.
  • High attention to detail, planning, and organizing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities change quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Leadership and Guidance to the Regualory Supplier QA Technician
  • Weekly Supplier KPI reporting the Quality Manager
  • Ensure procedures are in place and updated as part of the Vendor/Supplier program and comply with regulatory and BRC guidelines using risk-based analysis.
  • Approve new suppliers, ensuring they are following the company’s policies and regulatory compliance.
  • Supports in reviewing and reporting regulatory requirements for suppliers to the Quality Manager.
  • Contribute support to internal audits including GMP walks and BRC audits.
  • Assist with implementing team projects and trials involving ingredients and/or packaging.
  • Aid in traceability and mock recall exercises.
  • Assist in analyzing non-conformances within the facility collaboratively determining root cause, corrective and preventive actions
  • Assist with technical reports, as needed and assigned.
  • Support audit prioritization for the group and supplier audit program.
  • Maintain key relationships with other departments such as Sales and Purchasing as well as external suppliers.
  • Maintain proficiency and understanding of food regulations and maintain communication with the teams to ensure ongoing compliance. (HARPC, FDA labeling regulations, food defense, etc.).
  • Manage non-conformance program for ingredients and packaging and the ingredient/packaging holding area in the plant.
  • Manage the hold and release program for ingredients and packaging
  • Manage the pig farm approval and program for finished goods and ingredients.
  • Perform risk assessments, populate documents, and submit HACCP reports on a regular basis.
  • Oversee the E-Sesame program for the site.
  • Cross train within the Quality department and other duties, as needed.
