SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. This role focuses on improving the issue ticket landscape within the Starship Supply Chain, identifying specific actions to enhance vendor performance, and owning non-conformances found in production. The specialist will triage lots, drive corrective actions with vendors, and partner with them to institute new processes to reduce issues and supply chain risk. The position involves improving existing quality management processes, managing containment, receiving, and precision inspection non-conformances, and finding paths to resolution while enhancing surrounding processes to reduce the total issue ticket landscape. The goal is to create improvements within SpaceX’s supply base to facilitate a more stable supply chain, provide technical support onsite at suppliers, and work closely with engineering, procurement, and production teams to assure high-quality parts and services. The role requires analyzing quality metrics, partnering with supply chain reliability engineers, reviewing and assessing supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems, and providing feedback on manufacturing methods and technologies. Key responsibilities include executing supply chain non-conformance management processes, supporting containment actions, and cultivating a network across SpaceX to build relationships with cross-functional groups to identify, reduce, and eliminate impacts from vendor defects. The team member will also assist in developing policies, standards, processes, and documentation.
