About The Position

This role involves performing Supplier Quality oversight, with a specific focus on suppliers of Mechanical commodities such as Pumps & Machinery. The responsibilities include interfacing with suppliers to audit their Quality Management Systems and manufacturing capabilities, conducting studies to ensure compliance with Engineering and Procurement specifications, initiating and validating corrective/preventive actions to resolve issues found during assessments, and assisting in supplier training and development. The candidate may also investigate material-related non-conformances and collaborate with internal Procurement and Engineering teams to define part ordering requirements. Strong technical writing and customer relations skills are essential. Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in Quality Engineering (inspection, auditing, statistical analysis, quality assurance, quality control), is desired. Prior experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering role and project management/leadership experience are considered a plus. Lean and Six Sigma training/certification is also desired.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • 5 years of relevant exempt experience with a Bachelor's Degree.
  • 3 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree.
  • 0 years of experience with a Ph.D.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Customer relations skills.
  • Must be able to obtain DOD security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Supplier Quality oversight of suppliers, with particular emphasis on suppliers of Mechanical commodities (Pumps & Machinery).
  • Interface with suppliers to audit/assess their Quality Management System and their capabilities for performing critical manufacturing processes.
  • Perform related studies to help ensure that Engineering and Procurement specifications are met.
  • Initiate/validate supplier corrective/preventive actions to drive resolution of problems discovered during supplier assessments.
  • Help train/develop suppliers.
  • Investigate or coordinate the investigation and resolution of material-related non-conformances.
  • Interface with internal Procurement and Engineering functions to facilitate the development and communication of part ordering requirements.
