About The Position

The Supplier Quality Inspector demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within your area of expertise, participate in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. You will be involved in the ITO (tender) process and fully involved in the OTR (Order to Remittance) process. You will work as a pair with sourcing and act as a single point of contact for the supplier and internally throughout project execution (Quality & Technical). You will perform inspections, expeditions, and surveillances at suppliers and be responsible for the completion of the "Databook" (Final Inspection Report).

Requirements

  • Engineering Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Field.
  • Experience in fabrication/welding commodity.
  • Fluent English and French.
  • Experience in manufacturing process and inspection of critical welded structures.
  • Supplier development in fabrication/welding area, knowledge WPS/PQR & process validation.
  • NDT certification.
  • Office software (Excel, Power Point…)
  • Quality system - ISO 9000.
  • Knowledge of international standards (such as ASME/ISO/DIN e.g.).
  • Ethics and values.
  • Customer focus.
  • Conflict management.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Communication and negotiation skills.
  • Extensive experience in Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing or Engineering.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude & discussions and a passion for quality.
  • Strong background in interpretation of Engineering drawings/specifications, metrology, and manufacturing process planning/evaluation.
  • NDT certifications (PT, MT, VT).
  • Demonstrated proactive approach and issue ownership with process orientation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional and global team environments.
  • Highly self-motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Manage supplier inspection activities to ensure the quality of assigned commodity components.
  • Act as the technical focal point to coordinate Sourcing, Design & Materials Management functions while interfacing with suppliers.
  • Drive consistency and adherence to quality procedures and specification requirements.
  • Be fully accountable for quality and technical topics from order to delivery.
  • Manage inspections to be performed during part manufacturing (including customer inspections).
  • Ensure inspections are performed according to design requirements and issue the respective inspection and test reports.
  • Ensure inspection and test records meet requirements and send them to the data book as soon as the inspection and tests are performed and finished.
  • Review preliminary documents and build the product quality data book.
  • Prepare product quality documents focusing on customer requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement of supplier's quality, cycle, and delivery performance.
  • Manage supplier non-conformance and deviation activities (SDR / NCR); identify and drive process improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Conduct process capability analysis for Critical to Quality (CTQ) characteristics.
  • Work with suppliers to improve process capability.
  • Support Sourcing Quality and cost-out initiatives.
  • Be involved in the claim management process (ensure that all data needed for the claim are available and relevant to launch recovery program).
