Join our dynamic team in Brooklyn Center, MN where we are seeking a hands-on Supplier Quality Engineering Manager to drive supplier excellence through continuous improvement and proactive quality initiatives with our suppliers. This site manufactures critical components (Batteries, Feedthroughs, Connectors, Capacitors and Therapy Delivery components) for many of the finished devices in our Medtronic CRM and Neuromodulation portfolios in addition to providing components and materials across other areas of Medtronic. We are looking for a passionate SQE Manager ready to make an impact, collaborate cross functionally, and grow their career with a global leader in healthcare innovation. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of work experience in Engineering, Quality, and/or experience in a regulated industry OR an advanced degree with 3+ years of work experience in Engineering, Quality, and/or experience in a regulated industry
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment (for non-Principal level roles)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, a technical field, or an MBA.
  • ASQ CQE, CQA and/or CSQP certification
  • First Time Quality (FTQ) Coach / Six Sigma / Lean Green Belt or Black Belt certified
  • Strong communication, organizational and project planning skills
  • Experience leading a team through significant change
  • Experience with quality improvement plans and/or remediation
  • Demonstrated track record of effectively influencing and negotiating with others and leading effective/successful change initiatives
  • Proven judgment in assessing risks and communicating complex technical challenges to upper management
  • Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills for the team of direct reports

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Supplier Quality Engineers that are responsible for ensuring delivery of quality components, materials, and services in compliance with purchasing controls
  • Develop/maintain monitoring systems to track supplier & team performance (training, nonconformances, open actions, Supplier CAPA, supplier change management, Global Supplier Quality improvement programs, goals, supplier data, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing controls, including supporting internal, external notified body audits, and FDA inspections and outcomes
  • Lead cross-functional teams of engineers and manufacturing functions to investigate and resolve supplier-related quality or compliance issues discovered during incoming inspection and/or production
  • Lead team in corrective/preventive actions to resolve supplier-related issues (e.g., nonconformances, Supplier CAPA activities, audit findings, complaint investigations, etc.)
  • Manage performance, develop talent, engagement and inclusion, communicate business and operational developments, plan, prioritize and/or direct the responsibilities of direct reports.
  • Accountable for mentoring, developing and coaching staff on meeting / exceeding performance expectations and defined objectives
  • Provide leadership to staff ensuring the prioritization of strategic and department level initiatives to include defining performance goals and targets, conducting performance reviews, and staff 1:1s to guide performance management and employee development efforts and manage toward departmental goals
