About The Position

The Supplier Quality Engineer will support the supply chain organization and the supply base with the planning and execution of processes designed to improve overall supplier performance (quality, delivery, and cost). This role will interface with individual buyers and category managers, departments, and/or segments. This role will be based in Appleton, WI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology; with five (5) or more years of experience within Quality or Supply Chain related field.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking the English language

  • Experience within welding, fabrication, casting, and machining industry.
  • Experience mentoring and leading team members through direct reporting relationships or project work.
  • Ability to effectively communicate.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain standard work procedures as it relates to supply base performance.
  • Complete Level 1-4 PPAP review and disposition, including follow-up activities of Rejected / Interim Approved PPAPs.
  • Validate supplier capabilities, capacity and quality systems.
  • Address short term performance issues through 8D/SCAR and rapid continuous improvement.
  • Assist with the identification of standard work and process needs by collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Apply tools from lean methodology to drive continuous improvement efforts related to supply chain performance.
  • Coach, mentor, and train suppliers in continuous improvement.
  • Participate on councils to share project results, present ideas, and solicit feedback to help support individual or team project assignments.
  • Lead/participate in launch readiness programs.
  • Monitor supplier quality and delivery performance.
