This role plays a critical part in strengthening our Quality Management System (QMS), reducing risk, and ensuring suppliers and internal teams consistently meet requirements. This is a hands-on, manufacturing-focused role. The right candidate understands how quality systems work in practice, is comfortable on the shop floor, and can work effectively with suppliers, plant teams, and leadership.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field equivalent and or a combination of education and work experience.
  • Years of Experience: 5+
  • 5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Automotive or automotive-adjacent experience strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949
  • Experience conducting QMS, process, MPA, and supplier audits
  • Strong working knowledge of AIAG Core Tools: PFMEA Control Plans PPAP MSA (GR&R) SPC (Cp/Cpk)
  • Experience working with: Stamped steel, tubing, fabricated metal, or similar products Secondary processing suppliers (plating, coating, heat treat, welding, assembly)
  • Strong Excel skills (filters, pivot tables, trend analysis)
  • Willingness to travel and support multiple sites
  • Willing to participate in company-sponsored training and development
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be computer literate and able to work with programs such as Word, Excel, etc., and be able to learn and use HP programs such as e-mail, ERP system, etc.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, and/ or walk, and/ or use arms and hands to load and unload material for extended period of time.
  • Must be able to safely lift and load 50lbs.
  • The employee must also be able to work outside in a variety of conditions.
  • Candidates must be able to tolerate any climate, must be flexible with shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) during the week and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Apply and support ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements across multiple sites
  • Develop, revise, and maintain clear, usable procedures and standard work
  • Support certification and surveillance audits
  • Ensure consistent application of the process approach and risk-based thinking
  • Prevent local workarounds and “this is how we’ve always done it” behaviors
  • Supplier Quality
  • Manage supplier nonconformance and corrective actions end-to-end
  • Conduct supplier audits, including QMS and process audits
  • Review and approve PPAP submissions
  • Hold suppliers accountable through data-driven, professional communication
  • Support new supplier onboarding and supplier process changes
  • Auditing & Compliance
  • Plan, conduct, and follow up on: Internal QMS audits Process audits and MPAs Supplier audits
  • Ensure audit findings result in real corrective action and behavior change
  • Support registrar and customer audits as needed
  • Problem Solving & Risk Management
  • Lead internal and supplier corrective actions (8D/CAR)
  • Verify true root cause and systemic fixes
  • Identify and reduce both internal and supplier risk
  • Translate audit findings, customer complaints, and supplier issues into improvement actions
  • Data & Performance Monitoring
  • Analyze quality data such as PPM, trends, and Pareto charts
  • Use data to justify escalation, containment, and improvement decisions
  • Support quality KPIs and dashboards
  • The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers.
