About The Position

Barletta Boats is hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure materials and components meet quality and reliability standards. The role works with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams to resolve quality challenges, improve supplier performance, and support delivery of products that meet customer expectations in a manufacturing environment. The position also promotes Barletta's safety culture and continuous-improvement values.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field.
• Experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, quality standards, and supplier quality processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Experience with quality methodologies and tools such as Six Sigma, FMEA, 8D, or similar approaches.
• Ability to travel to supplier locations for audits and inspections.

• Experience within manufacturing environments.
• Marine, recreational vehicle, automotive, or related industry experience.
• Continuous improvement certification or training.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and qualify new and existing suppliers against quality and performance standards.
• Partner with Purchasing and Supply Chain teams to maintain and improve the approved supplier network.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive measurable quality improvements.
• Develop and implement incoming quality control processes, inspection plans, and testing protocols.
• Ensure materials and components meet specifications and quality requirements.
• Review and maintain supplier quality documentation, certifications, and related records.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to verify compliance with quality management systems and industry standards.
• Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions related to supplier quality concerns.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to prevent recurring issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve supplier quality, reduce waste and costs, and increase efficiency.
• Promote quality tools and methodologies to improve supplier performance and business results.
• Build supplier relationships focused on partnership, accountability, and long-term success.
• Model safe behaviors and proactively identify opportunities to reduce workplace risk.
