About The Position

Broan-NuTone® is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team. This role is responsible for ensuring supplier quality throughout the product lifecycle, from new product development to sustaining activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of quality systems, product quality planning, and problem-solving techniques. Requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering/related field or a minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio)
  • Project Management Skills
  • Able to read prints and ASTM standards.
  • Statistical Process Techniques, Failure Analysis, and Process Validation awareness
  • Knowledge in Quality Systems (ISO 9001:2015)
  • Fluent in English
  • Up to 20% Travel with some International

Responsibilities

  • Drive Supplier Quality activities such as Product Parts Approval Process (PPAP) documentation, Supplier Readiness Reviews (SRR), CAPAs, and SCARs.
  • Reviews control plans, FMEAs, and process capability studies as needed.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional multi-site teams to identify supplier development needs through the Supplier Readiness Review (SRR) process and other qualification activities.
  • Leverages post launch data to proactively drive improvements, monitor item releases for revision effectiveness and strive to continually improve the NPD processes.
  • Plan and complete Supplier Readiness Reviews (SRRs), Qualification Audits and other Supplier Development Activities.
  • Learn and apply quality acceptance standards.
  • Working collaboratively to identify industry standards and verify consistency with current practices.
  • Support the utilization of data sources to improve customer quality by collaborating with Group Sourcing, Engineering COEs & Product Marketing leaders to resolve top supplier issues.
  • Place top underperforming suppliers on improvement plans and establish metrics to monitor supplier performance, seek and identify additional improvement opportunities.
  • Where appropriate, provide disposition of non-conformances in a timely manner, assure that the proper corrective and preventive actions are taken, and follow up to assess effectiveness.
  • Support training needs as required in APQP, problem-solving techniques, root cause analysis, process capability and measurement system analysis.
