About The Position
US Farathane is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer at our Corporate Tech Center in Auburn Hills, MI to support and strengthen our supplier quality processes, ensuring we continue to deliver best-in-class products to our customers. The Supplier Quality Engineer plays a key role in ensuring supplier performance meets company and customer expectations. This position partners closely with the purchasing team and plant operations to drive supplier quality, resolve issues, and maintain compliance with industry standards.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
- Experience working within IATF 16949 quality systems
- Second-party audit experience
- Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Responsibilities
- Ensure all Supplier PPAP requirements are accurately and on time to support customer submissions
- Monitor and report supplier quality performance, including corrective actions and improvements
- Conduct new supplier qualification audits and ongoing supplier surveillance audits
- Lead on-site problem-solving activities at supplier locations as needed
- Maintain and support corporate supplier quality systems and processes
- Manage conflict minerals reporting and compliance activities
- Maintain and update IMDS database for purchased materials
- Collaborate cross-functionally with purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing teams
