About The Position

About the Team: The Quality Team in Newton, NC supports the organization by managing and continuously improving the Quality Management System for chassis component product lines, including Cross‑Axis Joints, Ball Joints, Suspension Joints, Control Arms, Stabilizer Link Connections, Tie Rods, and plastic components such as oil pans, baffles, and valves. Reporting to the Quality Manager, this team of four quality engineers partners with leadership to plan, implement, measure, and improve systems aligned with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001. The team owns key quality processes such as change management, document control, and the audit program, while ensuring KPIs and risk assessments are effectively used to drive compliance, performance, and continuous improvement.  

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required and 2 - 4+ years of related experience. (Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field preferred).
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Lead Auditor experience for IATF 16949.
  • Knowledge and hands on experience with AIAG PPAP requirements and submission processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands on experience in automotive manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interfaces with plant personnel to resolve chronic or major supplier issues and verify that suppliers understand process/product requirements.
  • Manages quality control projects related to supplier quality issues within the plant to assure suspect supplier parts are contained from production.
  • Reviews engineering specifications and drawings to assure suppliers meet their requirements.
  • Monitors suppliers' corrective action plans and tracks supplier ppm's.
  • Assists purchasing and engineering to resolve Supplier Review and Acceptance issues.
  • Reviews and approves supplier PPAP's.
  • Ensures that supplier quality issues are resolved using an appropriate problem-solving methodology.  Report on the status of 8Ds and ensure proper containment actions are taken.
  • Drive/lead internal resources and plant personnel to drive and track effective and true measurement of supplier ppm.
