About The Position

The selected Supplier Quality Engineer will provide support to the Airfoils and Composites Product Center relative to improvement of suppliers' Quality as well as providing Quality interface, expertise and support to Suppliers. The candidate shall be highly motivated and effective team player with strong communication and influential skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Industrial, Manufacturing and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing and quality environment.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality management systems, AS9145 Requirements for APQP & PPAP, and FAI Standard AS9102.
  • Experience working with one or more of the following aerospace or commercial equivalent preventative tools – Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP),8D, Lean Manufacturing, Control Plans, other process improvement tools
  • Six Sigma, Lean, and/or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Work with Cold Section Module Center to Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Engineering teams to execute proactive supply base improvement plans to achieve significant, measurable gains in cost, quality, and customer satisfaction across assigned suppliers
  • Utilize established Quality processes tools to support and accelerate improvement efforts
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of supplier quality management principles to ensure best-in-class quality, delivery, and service while being the primary Quality Engineer for a defined supplier base
  • Build and maintain key relationships with Supplier’s Quality and Operations leadership, as well as Pratt & Whitney Engineering and Procurement teams to resolve production challenges in a high-paced environment
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends, to support process and design changes at suppliers to aid in continuous improvement activities and reduce cost lead-time to improve overall quality signature
  • Support Escape Management activities by holding suppliers accountable for thorough root cause investigations and implementation of robust corrective and preventative actions for all escapes and recurring high-impact quality issues.
  • Lead and facilitate Vendor Corrective Action Board (VCAB) reviews.
