About The Position

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) drives supplier quality performance to support Lincoln Industries' manufacturing and business objectives. Through collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders, this role strengthens supplier partnerships, mitigates risk, and promotes continuous improvement to ensure the consistent delivery of quality products throughout the supply chain. Regular travel to supplier sites is required to assess performance, foster relationships, and support quality improvement initiatives at the source.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, technical degree, bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, quality, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, supplier quality, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related technical environment.
  • Ability to analyze technical problems, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) or the ability to quickly develop proficiency.
  • Experience applying quality principles in a manufacturing environment, including supplier quality, manufacturing quality, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related technical roles.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of GD&T.
  • Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Corrective action management experience.
  • Ability to perform supplier quality evaluations and audits.
  • Experience working with quality improvement methodologies (Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement tools).
  • Ability to manage supplier quality issues and communicate technical requirements.
  • Experience using common business software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
  • Must communicate clearly with suppliers in written and verbal means.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar quality certification.
  • Experience supporting supplier quality programs.
  • Experience conducting supplier audits.
  • Experience working with PPAP, APQP, corrective action systems, or quality management systems.
  • Experience in castings, machining, fabrication, or metal manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted quality partner for suppliers and internal teams by communicating clearly, professionally, honestly, and constructively on supplier quality issues.
  • Utilize the Six Sigma Process to analyze supplier quality issues and drive improvements.
  • Use root-cause analysis, corrective actions, audits, scorecards and continuous improvement tools to strengthen supplier performance.
  • Conduct periodic supplier quality audits.
  • Perform risk assessment and conduct strategic risk mitigation projects.
  • Maintain supplier scorecards, monitor quality trends, and help improve suppliers performance over time.
  • Coordinate engineering changes through the supply chain to support successful implementation.
  • Participate in supplier PPAP events.
  • Monitors supplier quality and coordinates reject/return/debit process. Disposition material through ERP System (Navision).
  • Reduce Cost of Poor Quality
  • Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.
