About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in Newark, NJ; Paramus, NJ; or Parsippany, NJ. This role represents the Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation. The position provides Quality interpretation of requirements, develops quality metrics, and designs and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements. The engineer will conduct capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities, participate in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs, and assist in the development of new standards repairs for non-conformances. Additionally, the role involves analyzing non-conformance trends to evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions, performing analysis, tests, and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness, and recommending corrective actions to address non-conformances. The engineer will apply advanced Supplier Quality prevention tools including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Lean and Six Sigma, lead cross-functional Requirements Reviews and Capability Assessments at BDS suppliers, and assist with the evaluation of new technology and manufacturing process deployment readiness at suppliers. Special capability approvals will be performed to ensure technical readiness, capability, and supplier process controls are established. The role works under general direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams
  • 3+ years of experience working in Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management
  • 3+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) and failure analysis
  • Experience presenting technical briefings to various audiences
  • Experience collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data, then summarizing findings; developing conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard
  • Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certifications
  • 3+ years of experience working closely with other engineering disciplines in an integrated team environment
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality assurance or supplier quality related roles
