We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Supplier Quality Engineer - Electrical to join our dynamic Procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading supplier qualification activities, managing supplier audits and PPAP approvals, maintaining the Approved Supplier List (ASL), and driving supplier quality improvement initiatives to ensure suppliers consistently meet Alexander Dennis quality, reliability, and performance requirements. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in supplier quality, procurement, manufacturing, automotive, transit bus, heavy vehicle, aerospace, or related industries.
  • Experience supporting supplier qualification, supplier development, quality assurance, and supplier performance management programs.
  • Strong knowledge of quality standards and methodologies including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, SPC, RCCA, 8D, Six Sigma, DFMEA, and PFMEA.
  • Experience conducting supplier audits, evaluating quality management systems, and driving corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, inspection plans, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, supplier performance reporting, and data analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical report writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with contract review, commercial terms and conditions, and supplier agreements is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead qualification of new suppliers within an assigned region and support periodic supplier recertification activities.
  • Manage PPAP requirements and approvals for new suppliers and products to support new product introductions and procurement initiatives.
  • Conduct supplier audits and evaluate supplier quality management systems to ensure quality requirements are consistently met.
  • Lead supplier quality investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities to resolve quality issues and prevent repeat defects.
  • Monitor supplier performance, assess process capability, and develop supplier quality improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, Reliability, and suppliers to support product quality, reliability, and supplier performance objectives.
