About The Position

Collins Aerospace is looking to hire a Supplier Quality & Development Professional to join the Collins Global Supplier Quality Tiger Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Supplier Quality & Development processes and/or projects as an individual contributor. This role works to achieve objectives that have a major impact on organizational goals. The professional will use their expertise to provide input on supplier qualification/certification, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution processes. They will manage supplier quality performance through prevention, monitoring/escalation processes, and processing of supplier submissions of nonconforming material. The role also involves managing/supporting supplier onboarding and qualification/certification, managing source inspection and material release processes, performing escape management procedures, driving root cause analysis & problem solving, and recommending corrective and preventive actions for systemic supplier process and product materials. Proactively supports RTX supplier programs to ensure continuous improvement and sustainability. Analyzes quality data to identify systemic issues and develops supplier-specific quality initiative strategies, addressing them with proactive quality tools (e.g., PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc.), and driving their implementation. Ensures suppliers are capable of meeting all contract requirements, including Resourcing Gate, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance, and Work Transfer implementation.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • 8+ years professional experience in a supply chain operations environment (monitoring, auditing, developing suppliers/operations) or equivalent.
  • Experience in Quality Regulations, Quality Core Tools Knowledge, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Experience in QMS (AS 9100, ISO 9001).

  • Auditing/Assessing, Risk Management / Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma) desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable to ensure Business Continuity management methodology deployment at RTX suppliers.
  • Establish projects to secure sustainability of quality @ rate and supplier's performance targets are achieved.
  • Provide VoC (voice of the customer) to challenge existing supplier cultures/competencies.
  • Identify supplier weaknesses, capabilities, capacities, areas for improvement, and development to improve supply chain maturity and robustness.
  • Deploy GSQ TT tool with suppliers to establish expedited and sustained recovery (Gemba walks, MPR, Quality Improvement Plan, Control Towers, LEAN, 6 sigma).
  • Communicate/present recovery plans to Key stakeholders, leadership, and customers.
  • Seek opportunities to apply lessons learned to continually develop RTX supplier management processes and competencies through identification and engagement of best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Define and manage Supplier Transformation Projects to achieve RTX expectations.
  • Support Strategic Sourcing commodities in defining their Supply chain strategies through inputs into Supplier Reviews or directly within the commodity.
  • Develop a quality mindset and continuous improvement, and contribute to anticipating recurring supplier quality issues and initiating preventive KPIs.
  • May manage moderately sized projects or processes.
  • Typically viewed as a subject-matter expert within the discipline.
  • Analyzes and makes recommendations for the implementation of supplier qualification/certification, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution processes.
  • Manages the analysis of quality data and development of part/supplier specific quality issue resolution and corrective actions.
  • Provides research and guidance for root cause analysis & problem solving (Red-X & 8D) in escape management procedures.
  • Develops corrective and/or preventive actions for systemic process and product design problems for products provided by suppliers.
  • Manages processes and procedures for supplier qualification/certification, source inspection and material release processes, and Correction Action Boards/DQ Clinics with suppliers.
  • Drives support for the RTX ZERO program to ensure healthy continuous improvement and sustainability.
  • Reviews processes and metrics to ensure supplier is capable to meet all requirements for work transfer and process change management, including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance.
