About The Position

IMMI is seeking a qualified and highly motivated individual to fill the role of Supplier Quality and Compliance Engineer who is responsible for leading IMMI's chemical compliance, product stewardship, and programs while ensuring alignment with the organization's Quality Management System. This role provides leadership for compliance related to chemicals, hazardous substances, environmental regulations, customer material disclosure requirements, and supplier compliance activities. The Supplier Quality and Compliance Engineer works cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, EHS, Manufacturing, and external suppliers to ensure products and manufacturing processes meet applicable customer, legal and quality requirements. This individual serves as the subject matter expert for global chemical regulations while driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, process performance, and compliance.

Requirements

7+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, or Environmental Compliance.
Experience in automotive, transportation, industrial manufacturing, or a similarly regulated environment.
Comprehensive knowledge of REACH, RoHS, TSCA, PFAS regulations, Proposition 65, GADSL, IMDS, SCIP, Conflict Minerals, SDS Management, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, DOE, Corrective Action Systems, Root Cause Analysis, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into business processes.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and compliance reporting systems.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree Preferred/or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Materials Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience with Assent, BOMcheck, IMDS, CDX, or similar compliance management platforms.
Experience supporting OEM automotive customers.
Working knowledge of welding, fabrication, cutting and sewing, molding, or assembly manufacturing processes.
Spanish language proficiency.

Responsibilities

Monitor, interpret, and communicate emerging global regulations that impact IMMI products, materials, and manufacturing operations.
Lead compliance activities related to REACH, RoHS, TSCA, Proposition 65, PFAS regulations, GADSL, ELV Directive, Conflict Minerals, and Customer-specific material disclosure requirements.
Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Conduct impact assessments and risk evaluations for new and existing products.
Manage customer requests involving material declarations, substance restrictions, and compliance certifications.
Serve as the primary point of contact regarding chemical compliance and product stewardship matters.
Support implementation and continuous improvement of IMMI's Quality Management System.
Ensure chemical compliance processes align with customer, industry, and internal quality standards.
Develop standards and methods for inspection, testing, evaluation, and monitoring of materials affecting compliance.
Utilize Total Quality Management principles and problem-solving methodologies to improve product compliance processes.
Participate in internal audits, customer audits, supplier audits, and compliance assessments.
Monitor compliance metrics and drive corrective actions to address identified gaps.
Develop and maintain supplier compliance programs for chemical and material reporting.
Evaluate supplier systems and processes to ensure adherence to IMMI's quality and expectations.
Review supplier material disclosures, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), technical data sheets, and compliance certifications.
Manage supplier corrective actions related to non-compliance issues.
Support supplier qualification, PPAP activities, audits, and ongoing supplier performance management.
Partner with Purchasing Engineering and Supply Chain teams to ensure requirements are incorporated into supplier agreements and qualification activities.
Develop a thorough understanding of IMMI products, materials, manufacturing processes, and customer requirements.
Evaluate chemical and material risks that may impact product quality, safety, reliability, or compliance.
Support APQP activities, FMEA development, Control Plans, and validation processes.
Participate in root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Utilize data-driven decision-making methodologies including SPC, DOE, FMEA, CAPA, and Risk Assessment Tools.
Support containment, investigation, and disposition activities involving non-conforming materials.
Analyze compliance and quality performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Develop reporting tools and dashboards that monitor compliance performance.
Track and report key regulatory, supplier, and quality metrics.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing compliance risk and improving operational effectiveness.
Provide regular status updates to leadership regarding regulatory developments and business impacts.
Develop and deliver training programs related to chemical regulations, product stewardship, hazard communication, supplier compliance, and quality tools and methodologies.
Mentor team members and support organizational awareness of compliance responsibilities.
Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and compliance best practices.
