About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer in El Segundo, CA for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This full-time, onsite position will support the Tooling and Offsite Fabrication departments by working directly with sub-tier suppliers to manage tool fabrication. The role will collaborate across program management, engineering, procurement, and supplier management to ensure procurements meet internal and external customer requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Technical documentation and writing skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft software, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• 3D CAD experience.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

• Root Cause and Analysis training.
• Lean Manufacturing experience or certification.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with program management, engineering, subcontracts/procurement, and supplier management teams.
• Define supplier statements of work, including contract scope, policies, processes, and supplier quality requirements.
• Support and periodically review the approved Tooling Supplier list and supplier performance.
• Manage supplier requests for waivers, deviations, and discrepancy reporting through tool deviation requests and quality processes.
• Evaluate supplier non-conformances, negative performance trends, and failures to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage source inspection processes and coordinate with customers as required.
• Verify End Item Data Packages within QTIS are complete and review manufacturing Certificates of Conformance prior to shipment.
• Use supplier performance databases and supplier quality management system assessment tools to evaluate supplier capability.
