About The Position

Mytra is seeking a Mechanical Supplier Industrialization Engineer to develop, qualify, and manage its mechanical supply base from a quality perspective as the company scales rapidly from prototype to volume production. This role will own supplier-facing quality end-to-end, from initial supplier qualification and manufacturing audits through ongoing performance management, corrective actions, and continuous improvement. The engineer will work closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure suppliers can deliver repeatable, scalable quality during periods of aggressive growth. This is a hands-on, high-impact role requiring deep experience with mechanical suppliers, strong judgment, and the ability to balance accountability with long-term supplier relationships.

Requirements

  • Comfortable owning supplier quality end to end, from initial qualification and audits through production ramp and ongoing performance management.
  • Experience working directly with electrical suppliers and understanding the realities of manufacturing PCBAs, wire harnesses, PLCs, power electronics, cameras, sensors, and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Excited to build a supplier quality system from the ground up, knowing it won’t be perfect on day one - and enjoy iterating and improving it as the company scales.
  • Comfortable influencing cross-functionally, partnering with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to align on risk, priorities, and tradeoffs.
  • Familiarity with core quality tools and when to apply them pragmatically: PFMEA, Control Plans, FAIs, PPAPs, SPC, 8D, and structured root cause analysis.
  • Ability to assess whether a supplier is truly ready to scale - not just technically capable, but operationally and organizationally prepared for growth.
  • Comfortable spending time on factory floors, in supplier facilities, and on video calls digging into real problems.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; willing to make decisions with imperfect information, recognize when something isn’t working, and pivot quickly.
  • Ability to clearly communicate quality risks, findings, and recommendations to a wide range of audiences, from operators to senior leadership.
  • Experience leading on-site supplier audits and developing corrective action plans that actually improved manufacturing outcomes.
  • Experience qualifying new suppliers or manufacturing lines and supporting them through early builds and volume ramps.
  • Understanding of common failure modes in electrical assemblies and knowledge of how to design inspection and test strategies to catch issues early.
  • Experience building lightweight but effective quality processes that scale, rather than heavyweight systems that slow teams down.

Nice To Haves

  • Encouraged to apply even if you can’t take on every example project in its totality.
  • Eager to work closely and collaboratively, learn new things, and bring unique perspectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a high-performing Mechanical supply base capable of delivering consistent, repeatable quality as Mytra scales.
  • Own supplier-facing quality from initial qualification through production ramp, partnering directly with suppliers to ensure their processes, systems, and facilities are built to support rapid growth.
  • Design and execute a robust supplier qualification and audit framework, assessing manufacturing readiness, quality management systems, process controls, and capacity to sustain quality through increasing volumes.
  • Spend time on-site at supplier facilities - domestically and internationally - leading audits, validating corrective actions, and developing suppliers over time.
  • Review and approve supplier quality documentation such as FAIs, PPAPs, PFMEAs, and Control Plans, ensuring inspection and test strategies are appropriate for both early production and scale.
  • Lead supplier issue resolution end-to-end, driving structured root cause analysis and corrective actions while holding suppliers accountable for performance.
  • Adapt approach based on supplier maturity and strategic importance, balancing firm expectations with collaborative problem-solving to maintain strong, productive relationships.
