About The Position

The Supplier Excellence & Readiness Assessment Specialist is responsible for evaluating supplier manufacturing operations, quality systems, and overall operational readiness to determine whether suppliers are capable of reliably supporting NFI's current and future business requirements. This is a unique opportunity to help establish and shape NFI's Supplier Excellence & Readiness Assessment program, as we grow our capacity in proactively identifying supplier risks, strengthening supplier performance, and supporting the long-term resilience of NFI's global supply chain. As part of this recruitment, NFI is hiring four Specialists, including opportunities focused on Manufacturing Operations and Quality Systems assessments. Successful candidates will leverage their expertise to identify supplier risks, evaluate supplier readiness, and support continuous improvement initiatives across NFI's global supply base.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, supplier quality, quality systems, industrial engineering, operational excellence, or a related field
  • Experience conducting supplier assessments, audits, operational reviews, or supplier development initiatives
  • Strong knowledge in supporting manufacturing operations and/or quality management systems
  • Experience within automotive, aerospace, transportation, electronics, heavy equipment, or other complex manufacturing environments
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, and operational risk assessment
  • Understanding of quality management systems, Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA), root cause analysis, PFMEA, control plans, and process controls
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, supplier quality, quality systems, industrial engineering, operational excellence, or a related field
  • Experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, or similar quality standards is considered an asset
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and report-writing abilities

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site supplier assessments focused on manufacturing operations, quality systems, and overall operational readiness
  • Evaluate production planning, scheduling, capacity utilization, workflow efficiency, and operational controls
  • Assess quality management systems, process controls, corrective action processes, and quality performance metrics
  • Evaluate supplier scalability, operational stability, and readiness to support current and future business requirements
  • Review manufacturing processes, material flow, maintenance practices, workforce capability, and continuous improvement activities
  • Assess Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) processes, control plans, traceability systems, inspection methods, and change management practices
  • Identify operational, manufacturing, quality, and supply continuity risks that may impact supplier performance
  • Validate alignment between documented procedures and actual shop-floor execution
  • Support supplier corrective action development, implementation, and follow-up activities
  • Develop evidence-based recommendations to improve supplier performance and readiness
  • Contribute assessment findings to overall supplier risk and readiness evaluations
  • Present findings and recommendations to suppliers and internal stakeholders
