About The Position

The Supplier Development Manager is responsible for implementing Recovery, Development, and Assessment assignments at supplier sites within the Procurement Operations department. This role requires significant flexibility for extensive travel (70-80%) across the US, Canada, and Mexico, utilizing various Airbus and industry-standard tools and techniques.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, and/or Program Management.
  • Demonstrable experience utilizing quality management tools/techniques.
  • Ability to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Ability to travel via car and airplane.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, carry luggage, and view computer monitor for long periods of time.
  • Requires hearing and vision.
  • Requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance supplier relationships by supporting them in building and delivering continuous improvement plans and/or roadmaps.
  • Deliver robustness throughout the Airbus supply chain, including sub-tiers.
  • Restore and secure supplier quality and on-time delivery to the required level.
  • Improve supplier performance by implementing advanced actions.
  • Improve Supply Chain efficiency by eliminating waste.
  • Contribute to anticipating recurring supplier quality issues and initiating preventive measures.
  • Perform onsite inspection of Supplier Products.
  • Act as the representative of Airbus at Supplier facilities.
  • Report regularly (weekly) and manage feedback to internal customers and stakeholders, including supplier status and escalation points.
  • Support the improvement of internal Airbus processes.
  • Lead internal trainings and mentor colleagues.
  • Undertake special projects, which may be cross-functional or cross-divisional.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
