Responsibilities

  • Effectively supervises performance of direct reports to ensure division and agency performance goals are met or exceeded and complies with the Department’s employment policies and procedures and the State’s statutes and rules. Includes supervising, assigning balanced workloads, ensuring quality of work, monitoring productivity, setting challenging goals, identifying performance gaps, initiating change effectively, motivating employees, and leading by example.
  • Conduct outreach to the small business community across the state on behalf of OSD.
  • Oversight of certification program, including compliance and audits.
  • Provide guidance and information related to OSD’s programs, services and activities to the vendor community.
  • Manage vendor inquiries and requests for assistance on behalf OSD.
  • Plan, develop and implement training and educational opportunities with representatives of the vendor community in order to spread an in-depth understanding of OSD’s programs and services including but not limited to: individual training, classroom training, demonstrations, meetings, conferences and workshops.
  • Educate and provide recommendations to the state’s vendor community regarding how to effectively engage in the state’s public procurement process.
  • Encourage and facilitate vendor participation in the state’s business enterprise certification process.
  • Administer the state’s vendor Mentor/Protégé Program including the identification of program participants, the development and distribution of marketing and educational materials related to the program, and the organization of Mentor/Protégé facilitation and networking opportunities.
  • Coordinate agency efforts for required reporting, including outreach and training.
  • Assist the, Outreach Coordinator, Certification Coordinator, and Marketing Designer as needed.
