About The Position

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Supplier Account Manager (SAM) to manage the Semiconductor Parts Cleaning Commodity. This role will collaborate with multiple Business Units within the Applied Materials Semiconductor Products Group. The SAM will be responsible for developing strategy for the Cleaning space, providing leadership to Materials Projects Managers and Engineering teams on supply chain design and commercialization for new products. Additionally, the SAM will manage existing supplier relationships and onboard new suppliers to drive new technology according to the Commodity Strategy. Key performance metrics include material cost, lead time, dual sourcing, and supply continuity risk mitigation. The individual will also present supply chain strategies to executive management.

Requirements

  • Experience with Semiconductor Parts Cleaning and Supply Chain
  • Functional Knowledge: Regarded as the technical expert in their particular field. Demonstrates in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in own discipline and broad knowledge of other disciplines within the function.
  • Business Expertise: Anticipates business and regulatory issues; recommends product, process or service improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, aligns and implements commodity strategies.
  • Negotiates and manages the maintenance of agreements with suppliers that provide the structure for all business relationships between Applied Materials and the supply base.
  • Engages with the PLC process to ensure alignment with the commodity strategies.
  • Directs new supplier introduction and/or disengagement requirements to/from the Applied Materials supply base.
  • Drives resolution to systemic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead-time, which may include engagement with sub-tiers in the supply chain.
  • Develops and presents high level cost reduction opportunities.
  • Approves/final authority, delivers and manages Supplier Performance Improvement Plans.
  • Drives formal supplier performance reviews.
