About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first-level supervisor providing specialized knowledge and expertise in planning, directing, and executing the functional responsibilities and procedures for the Customer Support Element of the Military Personnel Flight (MPF). This role also involves providing and assisting commanders and senior leaders on military personnel programs.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in the Federal Service.
  • Specialized experience must include knowledge of and skill in applying a wide range of military personnel principles, policies, practices, analytical, diagnostic techniques, concepts, legal requirements, and methodology to gather facts, respond to questions, ensure regulatory compliance and provide advisory services to solve a wide range of complex military personnel problems and issues.
  • Analytical and diagnostic techniques and qualitative and quantitative techniques sufficient to identify, evaluate and recommend management appropriate interventions to resolve complex interrelated personnel problems and issues.
  • Ability to analyze facts, identify problems, report findings, make conclusions and recommend corrective or other appropriate actions.
  • Completed 4 years course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
  • A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirement is at least 100%.
  • Knowledge of and skill in applying a wide range of military personnel principals, policies, practices, analytical, diagnostic techniques, concepts, legal requirements, and methodology to gather facts, respond to questions, ensure regulatory compliance and provide advisory services to solve a wide range of complex military personnel problems and issues.
  • Analytical and diagnostic techniques and qualitative and quantitative techniques sufficient to identify, evaluate and recommend to management appropriate interventions to resolve complex interrelated personnel problems and issues. Ability to analyze facts, identify problems, report findings, make conclusions and recommend corrective or other appropriate actions.
  • Knowledge of techniques for developing new or modified personnel work methods, approaches or procedures for delivering effective personnel services to clients.
  • Knowledge of interrelationship of military personnel programs to properly refer managers and customers for assistance and technical problem solving.
  • Skill in written and oral communication techniques sufficient to develop and deliver briefings, project papers, status/staff reports, and correspondence to managers to foster understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations.
  • Ability to use personal computers and related software applications in support of office functions.

  • This posn is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
  • May be called upon to work uncommon tours of duty to meet program objectives or special needs.
  • A 1-year probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.
  • An additional supervisory probationary period of one year may be required when an employee is officially assigned to a different supervisory position.
  • Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time.
  • Manages all military personnel programs that fall under the Military Personnel Flight Customer Support Section for the installation and associated units.
  • Processes ID card requests in DEERS and RAPIDS.
  • Retrieves ID cards.
  • Oversees multiple office automation software functions.
