About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled civilian Supervisory Clinical Psychologist to join our team located at Fort Polk, LA. Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital is a 20-bed military treatment facility located at 1585 3rd Street, Fort Johnson (formerly Fort Polk), Louisiana. It supports active-duty service members, families, rotational units, and retirees, featuring a 12-bed Level III Emergency Department and award-winning rural health care operations.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship required
  • Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.
  • A current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently from a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required.
  • Candidates will have completed an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited doctoral graduate program and an APA accredited predoctoral internship.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based treatment, including behavioral, cognitive, and motivational approaches.
  • Offer to providers and staff regular and concise feedback on the status of referred patients, to include recommendations for team-based care.
  • Document information in the electronic health record during patient encounters.
  • Provide guidance to hospital leadership regarding policy on Psychology issues.
  • Provide professional and clinical consultation to military and community leaders and multidisciplinary professionals.
  • Treat severe and complex variations of adult psychological dysfunction by making diagnostic clinical formulations based on the DSM.
  • Supervises performance of federal civilian employees assigned to the clinic to include establishing work priorities, making assignments, monitoring work performed and providing guidance on technical and administrative matter
