About The Position

This role involves supervising an effective team, including planning and holding meetings, preparing and conducting performance appraisals, managing staffing levels, assisting with career development, approving time and attendance, and prioritizing work assignments. The supervisor will provide effective feedback to employees, maintain documentation for disciplinary actions, and direct training and orientation to ensure EHS rules are understood, improve work performance, and acquaint employees with company policies. This position requires maintaining compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, interfacing between management and union officials, and handling grievances. The supervisor ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and practices, schedules production, reviews production and operating reports to resolve issues, and inspects machines and equipment. Additionally, the role promotes EHS and continuous improvement initiatives and culture.

Requirements

  • 3 years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
  • Must work a full-time schedule and overtime as required
  • Must have problem solving skills, good communication skills, and the ability to work with others
  • Advanced computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Supervises an effective team, including planning and holding meetings, preparing, and conducting performance appraisals as appropriate, managing staffing levels (including vacations, overtime, and leave of absences), assisting with career development (motivates, coaches, and trains to acquire maximum quality, productivity, morale, and cooperation), approving time and attendance, and prioritizing and making work assignments.
  • Provides effective feedback to employees, both positive and negative.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation for all disciplinary actions taken.
  • Directs training and orientation of employees to ensure EHS rules are known and understood, to improve work performance, and acquaint employees with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.
