Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Strong computer skills as well as strong communication abilities both written and verbal required.
  • Mechanical background will help the candidate be successful.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in fluid flow, metering of liquids and silo rotation is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science/Chemistry or dairy or other related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists and manages the enhancement of both the technical and financial performance of the department under the direction of the manager.
  • Must be able to manage the whey plant operation including overseeing and controlling all incoming and outgoing products, the proper operation and maintenance of all equipment, production output, sanitation, product specifications, quality and managing of all personal.
  • Responsible for the enforcement of all safety rules, GMP's, company policies and quality programs to ensure safe quality food.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves operational/mechanical problems in a timely basis to ensure an efficient, smooth flow of product.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections on a daily, weekly, monthly schedule to identify problems before they occur.
  • Follow proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures for each process and product line.
  • Performs pre-shift and/or start up inspection to determine the condition of each process.
  • Continuously monitors each process and makes necessary adjustments for a smooth continuous flow.
  • Operates lift truck as appropriate.
  • Maintains an open line of communication with operators, baggers, truck drivers, and contacts in other departments.
  • Completes scheduling and maintains proper levels of manpower making adjustments when necessary.
