About The Position

As a Production Supervisor at MKS Inc, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives. Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply, sales forecast and production ramp planning. Plans and administers procedures and budgets. Makes budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor. Selects and develops personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function. Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas. You will report to the Production Manager. This role is scheduled for the second shift, running from 3:30 PM to midnight, Monday through Friday

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required or 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Able to direct and supervise production and team leaders
  • Experience with time and attendance management – tracking & scheduling (must be in the vacation form) PTO, managing sick time and over time, managing shifts, managing start/stop times.
  • Problem resolution; process, technical, material, personal, interpersonal, cross functional
  • Be the primary point of escalation when personnel, supply or quality issues arise
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires good manual dexterity and coordination.
  • Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly handles objects at various heights (below, at, and above shoulder level).
  • Must be able to communicate information clearly and exchange accurate details.
  • Ability to observe documents and details at close range.

Responsibilities

  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals.
  • Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.
  • Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees.
  • Recommends changes to unit or sub-unit policies.
  • Management reviews work to measure meeting of objectives.
  • Works on issues where analysis of situation or data requires review of relevant factors.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.
  • Provides direct supervision to skilled, nonexempt employees.
  • Acts as advisor to unit or sub-units and may become actively involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems.
  • Develop a Capacity Staffing model based on capacity plan for Factory Performance management; annual reviews, goals and objectives, feedback, disciplinary issues, staffing: interview, hire, termination
  • Ensure compliance with all processes, procedures and protocols within the manufacturing activity
  • Schedule and facilitate daily production meetings to prioritize workflow in fabrication, assembly and test work cells in support of the Master Production Schedule
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving priorities with logistics department
  • Ensure all tools are calibrated per calibration schedule
  • Identify material shortages in production and coordinate expediting with Purchasing and Planning departments
  • Able to resolve problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Make budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor
  • Can support implementation and maintain 6S and Lean activities in all areas of operations
  • Help to define and implement standard operating procedures and workmanship standards
  • Experience training and coaching employees with job duties, safety procedures and company policies
  • Develop a capacity plan based on capacity tool, demand and forecast (labor, equipment) that will then drive a facilities plan as well as staffing plan
  • Maintain/Optimize training matrix and cross-training plan (skills matrix updated and maintained in VF by supervisors only)
  • Drive Continual improvement program (SSQA); Quality, efficiency, cycle time, first pass yield, scrap, labor etc.
