About The Position

The Supervisor role at Starbucks requires outstanding interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with guests, supervisors, and team members. This position is responsible for all results from the cook line through the dining experience. The role involves supervising Baristas and ensuring complete knowledge of all job-related procedures. A key aspect is fostering great relationships with team members, mentoring others, and ensuring guests are treated promptly, professionally, and courteously. The Supervisor sets standards by being cooperative, helpful, friendly, and maintaining a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance. This role also involves ensuring proper staffing for forecasted volume and budgetary guidelines, strict adherence to policies and procedures, monitoring inventories, and assisting with end-of-period and weekly inventory processes. The Supervisor will attend meetings, assist in meeting budgeted figures for labor and expenses, and ensure excellent guest service. They will communicate policy and procedure changes, work with the Department Trainer to ensure new hires are trained, and ensure existing team members attend follow-up training. The Supervisor must communicate any problems or concerns to management, work with all departments to ensure proper communication, and maintain files for efficient handover. Promoting the Casino through goodwill and a positive attitude, maintaining high sanitation and safety standards, and ensuring the security of products and assigned areas are also key responsibilities. The Supervisor must set high standards by complying with all departmental rules, policies, and procedures, and ensure all Team Members are treated fairly and consistently. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years as a supervisor or assistant manager of a quick-serve or full service restaurant
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management skills, with particular attention to quality and detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrates the ability to establish credibility and rapport with operating leaders
  • Ability to analyze data, understand trends, and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the business drivers in the industry
  • Self-starter with a creative mind and a track record of putting ideas into practice and assessing results
  • Must be available to work flexible shifts any days of the week, including holidays
  • Takes full ownership of initiatives, using strategic thinking and creativity to overcome challenges
  • Must be able to work while standing for hours at a time
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Ability to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to work in an environment with moderate to loud noise, bright lights, smoke, and dust

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Baristas
  • Possess complete knowledge of all procedures related to the job
  • Continuously foster great relationships with team members in all areas and mentor others to do the same
  • Ensure that all guests are treated in a prompt, professional and courteous manner
  • Set standards by being cooperative, helpful, friendly and by presenting a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance
  • Ensure proper staffing for forecasted volume and budgetary guidelines

  • Monitor inventories and report discrepancies to the Marketplace Manager
  • Assist in the end of period inventory process at the direction of the Marketplace Manager
  • Oversee the weekly inventory of all supplies to ensure all equipment and products needed is on hand and properly rotated
  • Attend meetings as directed by Marketplace Manager
  • Assist in meeting budgeted figures for labor and other expenses
  • Ensure excellent guest service
  • Notify team members of changes in policy and procedure
  • Work closely with Department Trainer to ensure all new hires are trained both with classroom and floor programs
  • Ensure all existing team members are attending follow up training sessions
  • Communicate any problems or concerns to Marketplace Manager, or other designated F&B Manager
  • Work with all departments to ensure proper communication
  • Maintain files in such a way that another supervisor could perform efficiently in the event of his/her absence
  • Promote the Casino through good will and positive attitude
  • Maintain high sanitation and safety standards
  • Maintain security of products and areas assigned to department
  • Set high standards by complying with all departmental rules, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure that all Team Members are treated in a fair and consistent manner
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
