Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Ability to think ahead and plan over a 30-day time span and prepare action plans to achieve results.
  • Supervision experience, including employee retention, performance review, and discipline.
  • Experience in employee training and development.
  • Experience in measurement of performance goals and standards.
  • Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations.
  • Problem analysis and resolution skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong team player.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe work environment and safe work activity of all SAFA employees as well as contract employees.
  • Ensure an environmentally safe plant for our employees and the community.
  • Ensure quality pads are produced according to approved Manufacturing Standards and Quality standards.
  • Drive quality and process improvements in the manufacturing area by identifying deficiencies and proposing solutions.
  • Manage production levels and efficiency by ensuring proper staffing, scheduling support, reporting shift performance, and reporting stoppages.
  • Train manufacturing employees, including assigning trainers, checking training status, following up, and signing off on training completion.
  • Oversee and report scrap, evaluating scrap, identifying root causes, and ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Ensure upkeep of machinery, equipment, and the manufacturing facility through scheduled 5S activities and proper cleaning during Preventative Maintenance.
  • Coordinate cleaning activities in respective areas to ensure they are free from hazards.
  • Assist Lead Operators in troubleshooting and production matters to reduce downtime and maintain product flow.
  • Assist Managers and Engineers in trials and production matters by ensuring proper manpower levels.
  • Evaluate maintenance priority and needs during shifts and communicate them to maintenance.
  • Complete Supervisor Patrols to check each area of the plant.
  • Notify Management immediately on issues that arise, including employee, scrap, and production issues.
  • Conduct daily communication, including holding meetings with Lead Operators and maintaining a log of meeting minutes.
