About The Position

This position supervises hourly production employees and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees. The supervisor will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training, assigning, scheduling, directing work, appraising performance, disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. The role requires the ability to maintain confidentiality, keep emotions under control, react well under pressure, treat others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position, listen and get clarification, and respond well to questions. The supervisor must have the ability to prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently. A clear command of the English language is required, both written and verbal.

Requirements

Associate's degree with two years related supervisory experience and/or training in the wood treating or lumber industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Good mathematical skills.
Proficiency in company computer database system with production reporting and data entry requirements.
Willing and able to work in all types of weather environments (cold, hot, rain).
Excellent attendance record.
Ability to communicate effectively (clear command of the English language).
Willingness to learn and ambition to advance.
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and reach for an extended period of time.
Team player.
Flexibility (willing and available to work overtime as needed).
Ability to follow directions and understand when to ask questions.
Ability to identify problems and communicate issues effectively.
Ability to learn the different lumber sizes, grades, and treatments.
Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
