About The Position

Supervises and coaches whey department employees to meet performance objectives by providing effective and strong leadership. Plans and schedules daily operations of the whey plant to maximize the efficient and effective use of personnel and equipment in producing the desired quality and quantity of products. Communicates and interacts effectively with all plant employees. Recommends changes to manufacturing procedures when necessary to maintain product specifications, minimize waste, improve efficiencies and reduce operating costs. Responsible for training of hourly employees in equipment operation, manufacturing procedures, shipping and receiving, sanitation, product loss prevention, food safety and personal safety habits and procedures. Verifies that all products meet specifications and quality standards before shipment to the customer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Manufacturing, Dairy Science, Food Science or Business Management required
• A minimum of three years’ experience in food manufacturing environment or a combination of education, training and work experience.
• Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise, lead and build relationships at all levels within the Company.
• Ability to work in a team-environment as well as independently with good time management, planning, prioritization, follow-up skills.
• Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, perform root cause analysis and make timely, informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Self-motivated, accurate self-insight, builds organizational talent by teaching and coaching, customer/quality oriented, maintains a positive view point and is persuasive.

Nice To Haves

• Whey production experience is preferred.
• AS400 experience desired.
