About The Position

This job performs and supervises those duties directly involved with a variety of ultrasound procedures. Supervises and evaluates sonographers and ancillary personnel assigned within specific areas and procedure rooms of the department and recommends the scheduling of personnel, repairs, and work progress within those areas of designated responsibility. Requirements

  • Completion of a formal training program in an ultrasound technology program in an AMA approved school.
  • 5 years of experience as a registered sonographer.
  • ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RVS) in vascular ultrasound.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to adapt to emergent situations.
  • Working knowledge of clinic and hospital policies and procedures to ensure their consistent compliance.
  • Knowledge of vascular anatomy, Doppler physics, and the hemodynamics of blood flow in relation to the carotid arteries, venous upper and lower extremities, arterial upper and lower extremities, and abdominal (kidney and mesenteric) vasculature.
  • Ability to preliminarily diagnose stenosis or occlusion based on nationally published criteria.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic procedures performed in order to supervise, evaluate, and recommend revisions to maintain efficiency.
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, and maintain complete confidentiality.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. more than 8 hours a day) and travel throughout and between facilities.
