About The Position

The Supervisor, Trucks oversees a large, dynamic shop responsible for the maintenance and repair of Komatsu and other OEM equipment. This role provides hands-on leadership and technical oversight, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality repair operations. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician, plus Red Seal certification.
  • Prior supervisory experience in an industrial environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of maintenance and repair of Komatsu and other OEM equipment.
  • Solid understanding of OHS legislation, safety standards, and inspection practices.
  • Ability to oversee and coordinate a large shop operation.
  • Highly organized, performance-focused, and self-motivated.
  • Valid driver’s license (Class 5/G or equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily shop operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality maintenance and repair of Komatsu and other OEM equipment.
  • Assign, schedule, and coordinate work for 20+ Heavy Equipment Technicians (HETs), electricians, and welders.
  • Complete in-process and final inspections to ensure quality standards and documentation requirements are met.
  • Prepare and manage work orders, service quotes, warranty documentation, technical reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Coach and develop employees through training, performance feedback, and growth opportunities.
  • Enforce safety standards, participate in incident investigations, review timecards, and ensure procedures and regulatory requirements are followed.
  • Resolve customer concerns by diagnosing issues, recommending solutions, and ensuring timely follow-up and communication.
  • Support planning, prioritization, and dispatch of field work, including PM services and Komatsu Care programs.
  • Manage inventory needs for major work orders, order parts and supplies, and complete shipping/receiving documentation.
  • Participate in safety programs, audits, and corrective actions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the branch.
