About The Position

The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is seeking applicants with a passion to make a difference in the lives of Nevada’s Children! The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is recruiting for a Treatment Home Supervisor to be located in Sparks, NV. This position provides care, training and treatment to adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a 24 hour/7 day a week residential setting at a Psychiatric Treatment Facility North, PRTF North. Youth served by PRTF North are designated as Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) and exhibit significant behavioral challenges including physical and verbal aggression, non-compliance, challenges to authority figures, school problems (academic and behavioral), peer and social difficulties, and family issues. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with youth and adolescents teaching basic living and social skills. The selected candidate will supervise the daily operations of a residential treatment program, create a schedule and ensure adequate staff to client coverage. The selected candidate will train and supervise staff members to ensure compliance with treatment model implementation as well as help to develop program protocols and policies. The selected candidate will work as a team with other professionals and parents to help develop youth goals and programs. The selected candidate will facilitate groups that will focus on aggression replacement training, problem solving, and empowerment skills. This position is responsible for completing the admission paperwork, writing progress notes, and organizing team meetings. This is a full-time position that includes a variable work agreement with overtime after 40 hours per week. This position will be required to work evening and weekend hours. Treatment Home Providers provide care, training, and treatment to children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a 24-hour, 7-day a week treatment home setting.

Requirements

  • Four or more years of applicable experience as described in the job duties
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a field of study applicable to the job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Assess client behavior and the home environment.
  • Establish and develop treatment goals, objectives, and specific treatment modalities.
  • Provide daily group sessions to develop social skills, group interaction, problem solving, and other skills.
  • Develop, review, revise, and implement treatment plans.
  • Monitor target behaviors, special treatment procedures, and case history.
  • Provide tutoring services and carry out therapeutic, social, recreational, educational, and physical care activities.
  • Modify inappropriate behavior and develop social, academic, coping, problem solving, and self-care skills.
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions and evaluate progress toward treatment goals.
  • Organize and supervise recreational outings and activities and assist clients in making purchases.
  • Ensure clients take prescribed medications.
  • Train, and supervise clients in self-care, social, empowerment, and academic skills.
  • Identify and implement responses to treatment home safety and security issues.
  • Respond to emergencies and complete incident reports.
  • Provide liaison services to coordinate treatment and make referrals.
  • Recommend and coordinate treatment with peers, external agencies, and service providers.
  • Advocate in court to support clients and ensure treatment continuity.
  • Consult and advise other agency professionals regarding client and family treatment issues.
  • Maintain, monitor, update, and complete client files and forms.
  • Compile and interpret statistics to assess client progress and provide program accountability.
  • Prepare and submit status reports.
  • Procure items and maintain records for expenditures and supplies.
  • Schedule and perform daily household maintenance chores and prepare and serve nutritional meals.
  • Organize, coordinate, and oversee the operation of a treatment home for youth with severe emotional disturbances and developmental disabilities.
  • Oversee plan reviews, ensure adherence to treatment plans and proper staffing ratios.
  • Ensure maintenance of required documentation and prepare reports on activities.
  • Train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate the performance of employees, and other supervisory duties as appropriate for managing people.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
