This role leads daily transportation and dispatch operations for inbound and outbound freight. The Supervisor will manage driver scheduling, routing, dispatch priorities, and workflow execution. Key responsibilities include optimizing fleet utilization, load efficiency, and route planning to meet performance goals, while monitoring schedules and adjusting operations to meet customer demands and changing conditions. The position ensures a high percentage of on-time deliveries while maintaining service standards and collaborates with various departments to align transportation needs. The Supervisor also oversees fleet readiness, maintenance coordination, and equipment utilization, ensuring all vehicles and equipment are safe, compliant, and properly maintained. A critical aspect of this role is ensuring compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and applicable regulations, monitoring driver compliance (hours-of-service, ELDs, licensing, safety documentation), and conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations. The role drives a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence, tracking and reporting KPIs, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Accurate transportation documentation and operational reporting are essential, utilizing systems like AS400, Excel, ELD, and routing tools for planning and tracking. The Supervisor will also support staffing, resource planning, and overall logistics execution, performing additional duties as assigned.
