About The Position

Cobalt Civil is seeking a dependable, experienced, and safety-focused Transmission Line Drill Crew Supervisor to lead and work alongside foundation drilling crews on transmission line and heavy civil construction projects. This position combines hands-on drilling support, equipment operation, and field leadership responsibilities while overseeing daily crew operations, safety, production, and quality performance. The ideal candidate will have experience in large diameter drilled shaft and pier construction, including transmission line foundations, substation foundations, and commercial drilled shaft applications.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of heavy civil, foundation drilling, utility, or transmission line construction experience preferred
  • 2+ years of supervisory or crew lead experience preferred
  • Experience with drilled shafts, caissons, piers, or large diameter vertical drilling operations preferred
  • Knowledge of transmission line foundation construction and drilled pier installation practices
  • Experience working around large drilling equipment, cranes, excavators, and support equipment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather and terrain conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to lead by example
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight Monday through Friday based on project needs

Nice To Haves

  • CDL or equipment operation experience a plus
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and work alongside a crew of 4–6 employees in daily field operations
  • Assist with large diameter vertical drilling operations for transmission line and heavy civil foundation projects
  • Coordinate daily work assignments and maintain production schedules
  • Ensure all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and site-specific procedures are followed
  • Conduct pre-job planning, safety meetings, observations, and assist with incident investigations
  • Support equipment setup, mobilization, troubleshooting, and daily maintenance activities
  • Oversee drilled shaft and pier construction activities including layout, excavation, casing installation, reinforcing placement, and concrete operations
  • Monitor crew productivity, workmanship, and jobsite conditions to ensure quality performance
  • Read and interpret construction plans, layouts, shaft details, and field instructions
  • Communicate with Project Managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and customer representatives as needed
  • Coordinate materials, tooling, and support equipment required for daily operations
  • Maintain daily reports, crew documentation, production tracking, and time entry
  • Train, mentor, and develop crew members in safe and efficient work practices
  • Travel Monday through Friday to project sites as required
