Reporting to the Superintendent of Transit Fleet Maintenance, the Supervisor(s) play a critical role in contributing to the City Operations vision. As a member of the Section Extended Leadership Team, this position focuses on steering strategic initiatives contributing to the overall success of the Fleet and Facilities Services Branch. Simultaneously, the Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of human, social, technical, and operational systems in collaboration with the Extended Leadership Team, ensuring the efficient maintenance and repair of over 1,000 buses. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient operations of a Transit Fleet Maintenance Garage, resulting in the daily provision of clean, safe, and reliable buses to Edmonton Transit Service and the citizens of Edmonton. Responsibilities include team leadership, garage operations, personnel, administrative and financial management (overseeing an $8-12 million budget), and maintaining client relations within a 24/7 environment. The Supervisor directly leads up to 90+ ATU staff and limited CSU employees, including Forepersons, Technicians, Servicepersons, Bus Cleaners, and Shop Clerks. Responsibilities may also include operations of the TFM Tow/Tire shop as well as the Farebox Repair Shop, leadership of assigned projects, committees, as well as section and branch initiatives.
