About The Position

This is a Supervisor Trainee position on the 1st shift, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 5 am to 3 pm. The role involves developing skills to oversee department personnel, ensure work requirements are met while minimizing costs, and setting department priorities. The trainee will assist in creating or revising standard operating procedures and ensure personnel compliance with company policies, procedures, plant-wide safety, and rules of employee conduct. The position also includes gaining experience in interviewing, hiring, disciplining, training, and terminating department personnel, becoming proficient in effective communication with internal and external customers, and following up on manufacturing-related issues to completion. The trainee will acquire knowledge of effective employee relations, learn to provide coaching and development, and master the process of making employment decisions and resolving employee issues through problem-solving. Understanding how to balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results and striving for continuous improvement are key aspects of this role. The trainee will become familiar with supervising departmental performance measures, including visual controls, provide regular progress reports to the manager, and develop the ability to set department priorities. Additionally, the trainee will help create and execute MPS objectives, meet MPS commitments, and work within the guidelines of MPS, reflecting MITER Brands business values and philosophy in all interactions. Adherence to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and organized work environment is mandatory. Other duties as assigned will also be part of the role.
